  • Overview

    As the first of three levels of Machine Operators, this position performs basic fabrication tasks within assigned area, including operation of most machining equipment under training and supervision. The incumbent sets up and operates machines using set-up sheets, routing sheets, and blueprints.

    There are multiple openings for Day, Swing, and Weekend shift. Please answer the supplement questions with your preferred shift(s) at the end of the application.     • Under supervision, incumbent sets up and operates machines as assigned using work instructions, routing sheets, and blueprints.
    • Responsible for inspecting assigned work of self and others.
    • Routes parts using material handling equipment.
    • May train temps and entry level operators, makes recommendations for improvement, maintains a neat and organized work stations, and achieves and maintains quality and productivity standards.
    • Follows safety guidelines, identifies potential safety hazards and initiates corrective action when necessary, maintains acceptable dependability level, and must not pose a risk to self or others.


    • Include set-up operation and troubleshooting of equipment in at least one (or more) of the following areas: sheet metal, turning, milling, drilling, welding, and/or soldering.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively inspect assigned work and the work of others, which may include the use of micrometers, gages or special equipment as required. Must also have the ability to interpret blueprints and set-up sheets.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively and safely use parts handling equipment.
    • Familiarity with all tooling and material types used during production along with a basic knowledge and understanding of applicable ISO procedures.
    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate work information in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations with an understanding of decimal/fraction equivalence.
