    A-dec is actively searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Swing Shift Upholsterer who enjoys the craft and challenge of hands-on upholstery work. If you’ve got prior hands-on/finishing work experience (from mechanical to construction to warehousing – specific upholstery experience is not required) and you’d enjoy being part of our disciplined and talented upholstery team, this role may be for you!  

     

     

    A little bit about our Swing Shift Upholsterer role:

    As a Swing Shift Upholsterer, you will perform a variety of routine, repetitive tasks (including securing material onto armatures, forming vinyl, stapling, gluing, and more) following clearly defined, established work instructions.  Working directly with a trainer, you’ll learn and demonstrate that the key is consistency across all assigned tasks, paying attention to the littlest of details and upholding quality as the #1 objective.  Our Upholstery department produces the best doctor and assistant stools to dentists across worldwide.  Upholsterers also work directly with all materials and build finished patient chairs, so finding great pride in being part of the solution to patient comfort is part of our daily focus. There is also advancement opportunities within the department which include working with machines (such as our famous robot) and machine sewing by hand.  There are also growth opportunities into lead and managerial roles too!

    Responsibilities

    • Glues foam to armatures.
    • Forms, glues and staples vinyl to foamed armatures.
    • Assembles and packages doctor and assistant stools.
    • Works with assemblers and area Unit Specialists to exchange work information.
    • Achieves and maintains quality and productivity standards, follows all safety guidelines, and maintains acceptable dependability level.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated manual dexterity required.
    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
    • Understanding of proper hazardous waste disposal.

     Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
