    A-dec is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer/Senior Quality Engineer to join our Supplier Quality Engineering team.  This position plays a critical role working with our Purchasing and Engineering teams supporting our electrical commodities.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence and passion for working with suppliers to develop new products/processes, supplier capability, and assuring product quality.     About the Role

    Works as part of a team responsible for product quality assurance for assigned sourced materials and components and works closely with Purchasing to select, manage, and develop suppliers. The incumbent assists in the development of new and existing supplier processes, which include supplier and part qualifications, supplier corrective and preventative action, new product introductions, and supplier incoming inspections.


    • Assists Purchasing in supplier selection and evaluation, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensures quality assurance of sourced products through control plan development, product qualifications, incoming quality inspection plans, corrective and preventative actions, and other related processes.
    • Works with suppliers to refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and lean principles to assure purchased components meet specifications.
    • Works with Product Development on new and existing designs to ensure design for manufacturability by ensuring design specifications are clearly defined and within the capability of the process.
    • Contributes to the achievement of department and cross-departmental goals/projects in quality, safety, on-time delivery and cost efficiency through timely completion of assigned objectives and effective communication.
    • Ensures project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and contracts.
    • Contributes to the advancement of product quality assurance by remaining current with new technology or areas of expertise.


    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong written and oral communication and ability to relate and communicate effectively across all levels of staff inside and outside the company.
    • Must possess sound judgment, good decision making ability, and a high level of decision quality, problem solving and analytical abilities with a high attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated skills suitable for application and interpretation of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
    • Demonstrates good organizational skills and the ability to manage own time and resources effectively.
    • Demonstrates ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
    • Positively represent the organization in a professional manner both internally and externally.

     Preferred Experience/Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and/or relevant engineering work experience related to electronics manufacturing and process troubleshooting related to PCB, PCBA and wire harness assembly.  Electrical process engineering experience would preferably include in depth experience with SMT, wave solder, thru hole soldering, convection reflow and various rework techniques. Familiarity with IPC Standards.
    • Experience with various quality methodologies (8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, DOE, SPC, and related statistical tools).
    • Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Certification a plus.
    • Experience with Circuit Board CAD tools and Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Visio, SharePoint and/or Power BI.
    • Knowledge of ISO 13485/UL/FDA standards for medical device industry helpful.
