  • Overview

    This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and leading research and engineering project assignments pertaining to infection control and related topics. Assignments require independent judgement in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. The position is also responsible for providing technical support and guidance on infection control topics throughout the company.


    • Responsible for planning and executing scientific and engineering research and development work independently or in small teams to accomplish complex projects, which may span the fields of chemistry, microbiology, physics, materials engineering and mechanical engineering.
    • Independently works on a wide range of complex problems that require new approaches through adaptations and modifications of standard scientific and engineering principles, theories, techniques, and procedures.
    • Generates, researches and evaluates alternative concepts to determine effective and feasible solutions to infection control project assignments. Ensures results are clearly and accurately documented. Keeps project stakeholders informed throughout projects through timely communication and presentations.
    • Responsible for planning, executing and documenting testing to investigate issues, explore concepts and verify/validate solutions, often collaborating with internal and external test labs to perform testing.
    • Provides technical support and guidance on infection control topics to Product Development, Manufacturing, Sales, external partners and at times to customers.
    • May direct a few engineers, designers, technicians and others who assist on technical aspects of assigned projects.


    • BS degree in relevant field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with over 5 years of experience; MS or PhD in relevant field of STEM with over 2 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
    • Adept, self-reliant learner who can investigate new fields and synthesize knowledge from multiple disciplines in developing solutions to assignments.
    • Ability to provide imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of complex infection control research and development assignments.
    • Experience in developing and executing laboratory studies.
    • Excellent written/oral communication skills with a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment while following established procedures

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in developing and evaluating infection control products.
    • Experience in medical devices.

    Drug Screen and Background Check required.
