  • Overview

    This position is responsible for managing the sales force in the Northcentral Region to achieve the regional sales objectives across product lines. The incumbent is responsible for the selection, training and development of the sales team, implementation of sales goals including product mix by territory manager (in alignment with corporate objectives), creation of a strong sales team that supports each other across product lines, and developing and maintaining effective relationships with dealer partners including government and school representatives.


    • Assures sales and product mix goals across equipment, clinical and institutional sales are achieved through planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the sales force; communicating sales objectives; providing timely information regarding actual sales in comparison to budgeted sales; and developing and implementing timely and effective training programs for the sales force.
    • Assures teamwork and synergy among the entire dealer and institutional sales force by selecting, training, mentoring and fostering a sales force that supports one another across product lines in order to provide a world-class sales experience for our customers and capitalize on all potential sales opportunities in alignment with the corporate objectives. This includes, but is not limited to providing employees with the opportunity to enhance their existing knowledge, skills and abilities through co-travel; sharing ideas and programs that are successful in the field; sharing leads; supporting each other with the dealers; supporting sales activities at dental shows; and supporting A-dec projects.
    • Assures the development and maintenance of relationships with our dealer partners through activities such as, establishing relationships with the dealer’s management teams; provide effective training during the dealer sales training program; encouraging attendance at dealer sales training programs; co-travel; sharing effective sales strategies, tools and techniques; supporting effective dealer displays, and educating doctors and schools and government representatives about how they can improve dentistry and improve their efficiency with A‑dec products.
    • Assures an environment of self-sustaining, continuous improvement consistent with corporate objectives by driving improvements in throughput times and eliminating waste in a manner that is measurable and provides value to the product and/or service that is delivered.
    • Assure an effective and qualified work force by developing and evaluating subordinate personnel in compliance with A-dec’s EEO and affirmative action guidelines to provide for a discrimination-free work environment.


    • Bachelor’s degree with ten years or more applicable domestic and/or international sales experience is preferred.
    • Demonstrates ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision and the ability to effectively motivate, lead and manage employees at a variety of levels within the organization.
    • Demonstrates the ability to align work with the strategic goals of the organization while understanding business implications of decisions.
    • Demonstrates the ability to analyze the market and competition in order to develop and adapt appropriate strategies to achieve organizational goals.
    • Demonstrates the ability to remain objective and open to others’ views while working to achieve corporate objectives.
    • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, persuasively and effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Demonstrates good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
