  • Overview

    Responsible for developing a strong and efficient FP&A program, including the creation and maintenance of budgets, financial models, forecasts, and special projects. Works collaboratively across all functions in support of business decisions and ensures appropriate financial controls are embedded in all finance processes and provides leadership to the FP&A team.

    Responsibilities

    • Manages the company’s financial planning and analysis; management of the annual budget creation process, monthly/quarterly forecasting, and capital planning. Identifies and addresses potential budget risks and opportunities. Partners with the Accounting Operations to ensure monthly financial statements are prepared accurately and timely.
    • Supports and develops financial models for the Director of Finance to use in evaluating functional proposals with financial implications, including marketing promotions, product pricing, and R&D projects.
    • Supports the business in decision-making processes by providing forward-looking analysis and insight to the senior leadership team, and ensuring alignment of planned actions and targets in the financial forecast. Manages the Corporate Project reporting and analysis process.
    • Proactively analyzes operational and financial data, preform periodic variance analysis of budgeted, forecasted and actual financial performance, identify and interpret business drivers, and evaluate impact on planned objectives.
    • Responsible for successful implementation of the annual budget and capital planning processes. Partners with functional business leaders including A-dec’s affiliated foreign entities in Australia, China and the UK on budget creation and management financial and operational forecasting, and financial reporting & analysis.
    • Drive continual process improvement to increase efficiency. Assess and develop new tools to improve the budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Support Sales and Product management in developing financial information related to annual and monthly shipments, orders, and backlog budgets.
    • Primary accountability for the Sales & Operations (S&OP) Planning Process. Prepares and communicates insightful analysis for monthly operating reviews. Organizes and delivers appropriate management reports to senior leadership.
    • Manages, supports, and provides leadership and direction to FP&A team:
      • Recruits and builds a talented workforce with strong financial aptitude.
      • Develops, mentors, and builds strong teams, leading to high levels of performance.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and 8-10 years of financial analyst experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 2-3 years of supervisory experience; MBA and CPA or CMA desired
    • 2-3 years project team leadership / project management skills
    • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly with Excel, Access and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively motivate, lead and manage employees at a variety of levels.
    • Demonstrates good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
    • Demonstrates the ability to align work with the strategic goals of the organization while understanding business implications of decisions.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to leverage perspectives and drive optimal results.
    • Demonstrates successful operation of a customer service environment; knowledge of A-dec’s product line is preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong data analysis skills; financial/business modeling experience a plus
    • Experience creating effective and efficient customer service programs and associated metrics.
